Coast Water Private Wealth, a well-established and growing advisory practice, is seeking a driven Associate Investment Advisor to join the team. The ideal candidate manages a book of business between $10M and $30M in assets and is looking for support to continue growing. Advisors are empowered to operate independently while benefiting from Harbourfront’s open-architecture platform, including access to Canadian and U.S. securities and alternative investments.
As the practice continues to expand, there are opportunities for increased responsibility, specialization in advanced wealth planning, and involvement in broader firm initiatives. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a strong desire to grow into future opportunities.

You will be responsible for:
  • Collaborating closely with key principals of the practice to support and strengthen client relationships by liaising with clients, responding to inquiries, and proactively solving problems.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, draft client correspondence, and take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Processing and following up on security transactions, transfers, and related documentation.
  • Managing a book of business with oversight and support from Lead Advisors.
  • Contributing to the creation of holistic wealth management plans in partnership with the advisory team.
  • Performing additional duties and support tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position has:
  • CIRO Licensing as a Registered Representative or successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook is required.
  • A current book of business between $10M and $30M in assets under management and is seeking support to grow further.
  • 3 years of previous experience at a financial services firm.
  • Willingness to complete the LLQP to obtain insurance license within 1 year.
  • Proficiency in Financial Planning and the development of comprehensive financial plans (Experience with Conquest software is an asset).
  • Strong understanding of investments and investment strategies.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, independence, and a strong sense of initiative to identify opportunities to add value.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a team-first mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, results-driven, and thrive within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and effective organizational skills to prioritize, multitask, work within time constraints, and follow-up.
  • Strong technical abilities, proficiency with MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Motivation for growth on the team.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a professional and friendly manner.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $150,000 per annum (actual salary offered will be commensurate with book value, education, experience, and internal parity).
